NHS Charities Together

Due to the global Coronavirus pandemic, Forever UK has decided to switch our online £1 charity donations from the Bush Fire Relief Fund to NHS Charities Together Emergency Covid-19 Urgent Appeal. This is for the UK and for Northern Ireland only, with the Republic of Ireland returning back to Rise Against Hunger.

The switch took place week commencing 18th May 2020

What is the NHS Charities National COVID-19 Urgent Appeal?
NHS charities are the legal way that the NHS receives, holds and spends charitable funds. The beneficiaries of NHS charities are NHS patients and funds are spent in addition to core NHS funding, they do not replace government money. There are 230 NHS charities in the country.

NHS Charities Together is the national umbrella organisation for these charities, working closely with the Charity Commission, Department of Health and Social Care, and BHS England, Scotland and Wales to represent, champion and support the NHS’ official charities.

Key Messages for COVID-19: Four ways to help the NHS

  1. Follow NHS and Government guidance on how to keep yourself and others safe
  2. Support your family and friends through your social messaging and communications networks
  3. Support your local NHS – there are over 200 NHS charities dedicated to supporting patient care at their hospitals, ambulance trusts, mental and community health bodies.
  4. Fundraise in aid of or donate to the NHS Charities National Appeal that acknowledges and supports NHS staff, volunteers and patients impacted by COVID-19

How can Forever Business Owners (FBOs) and customers donate in the UK?
From week commencing 18th May, FBOs and customers will be able to opt in to donate £1 whilst purchasing products via the online store. This can be done by following the below instructions:

  • Click on the Buy Forever Living at the top of this page
  • Click Enter Shop and choose Great Britain
  • Add selected products into your shopping cart
  • When viewing the contents of your shopping cart, select ‘Add NHS Charities Together £1 donation’
  • The £1 will be added to the order total

How the funds will be spent

The NHS Charities Together work with Trustees, members and the CCLA to set up an emergency grants fund for members.

  1. Regular grants to NHS Charities – this will quickly grant our funds from the National Campaign to NHS charities to spend quickly on enhancing the wellbeing of NHS staff, volunteers and patients impacted by COVID-19 such as
    1. Funding wellbeing packs for staff, volunteers and on wards
    2. Supporting patients’ mental health through isolation
    3. Benevolence
    4. Other items identified by members of their NHS bodies that enhance wellbeing
  2. Post pandemic grants to NHS members – an amount of funds will be spent after the crisis on supporting the mental health and recovery of NHS staff and volunteers. This will be in the form of grants that provide respite, rehabilitation and mental health recovery of NHS staff and their families
  3. Grants to NHS charities to support their voluntary, care and hospice sector so that NHS patients leave hospital more quickly and safely, stay or remain out of hospital. Supporting the integrated care partnerships in this way significantly reduces stress on the NHS and provides the wrap around provision for patients which is vitally needed.

Preferred Customer Programme

Forever Living are changing away from the current Novus Customer offering to a new Preferred Customer Programme.  Novus Customer was something that those who love the products and wanted to get them a little cheaper often joined, or it could be the first step to starting your own Forever business.

But to help business owners make the most of the opportunities of the business plan they are changing the system,  We don’t advocate discounting the prices of products as it devalues them for all, but we do like to reward customers for their loyalty and this new preferred customer programme will do just that.  Also, the first minimum order quantity to qualify for the discount is being reduced.

So in the future to become a preferred customer the discount is being reduced to 5% (from the Novus Customer 15% discount) and the minimum order is going down to £75.

If you are already a Forever Business Owner and your current Novus customers are going to stop ordering due to the reduced discount level, then you can always buy and supply the products yourself and still offer them the 15% discount to keep their continuity – whilst bringing new people on board at the new levels.

Looking after customers properly is a time-consuming but rewarding thing, and we as Forever Business Owners deserve to get the 25% commission we will not get for our Preferred Customer orders, after all this is our business and we need to work to offer excellent customer service and keep up to date with all the products, so this is a really positive move for us.

Signing Up Preferred Customers

It used to be a bit of a pain signing up Novus Customers – they had to fill out an application form and it had to be submitted with their £100 order, so Forever has improved the sign-up process which can be done entirely online, with as I said the minimum order reducing to £75.

If you are in Ireland this change is not coming into effect straight away so there the Novus Customer is still available until further notice.

If you have any questions and you are a Forever Living business owner then please talk to your upline or contact head office.  For UK business owners there is a frequently asked questions page on Forever Knowledge which can answer most of your questions.

How is your mood?

We are now 4 weeks into this lockdown and how is your mood?

It all started as a bit of a novelty 4 weeks ago, and with the review in 3 weeks some thought we might only be shut in for a short while – but now the news seems to say we could be locked down a lot longer than we originally thought.  Nobody really knows and the uncertainty can definitely play a part in damaging your mental health.

How are you keeping positive in these uncertain times?

I am following a few simple tips in order to keep my sanity :

  • Keep a regular routine – I am getting up and go to bed at the same time every night and keep regular meal times. Also, there’s a Virtual Pub Quiz I do weekly and exercise classes which all help me keep an element of normality and regularity in my life.
  • Keep in touch with people – I’m having regular chats with family, clients, and also people I am meeting on networking meetings.  Just to keep connected and avoid that feeling of isolation.
  • Have a divide between work and leisure – with working from home it’s really easy to just keep working into the evening, so we are dividing our working day from our relaxing evenings with a dog walk that divides the day and means I leave my desk at a sensible time.
  • Be Patient if isolating with others –  you are probably spending a lot more time with your close family than you normally would, and if you are not sleeping well due to the worry you may find tempers can flare more than usual. Stop, breathe and think before raising voices and walk away for some space if you really feel you are going to snap.
  • Be Kind – I am seeing lots of arguments on social media as the regulations we have been told are being read in different ways by different people.  Sometimes rather than posting something negative it’s better to just walk away and leave it as no-one has ever had their mind changed by a negative post on social media in my experience.
  • Remember those isolating alone – if you haven’t heard from a friend or neighbour for a while- drop them a message to see how they are.  I bet they will really appreciate it.
  • Exercise – I am going out every day as I said to take my dog Daisy for a walk – but I’m also still doing my pilates class online once a week.  there are loads of people online helping with exercise ideas – find the one that most appeals to you and do it regularly.

I love this graphic I saw on a friend’s Facebook post this week – it covers my points above plus more.

Week 3 – is anyone buying?

Right now we are just entering the 3rd week in the UK of our social isolation and distancing, for those who can work from home.  There are many people who have lost their income totally, and many others who may be on Furlough or shielding themselves or family members, or looking after the children, so they can’t go to work.

In my other business, my ‘day’ job with Silicon Bullet Ltd, I train bookkeepers and I have been super busy as everyone struggles to work out what they are entitled to from the daily government announcements, writing blog posts with practical tips on processing payroll and how to manage the grants and allowances when you claim them.  But for many people, it’s still a waiting game to know what they will be entitled to, if anything, and when they might get it.Aly Zoom Background

Remember though that in a couple of weeks time there will be people who are earning their 80% pay but they have greatly reduced their outgoings.  No daily commute to pay for, no take out coffees, no meals out or trips to the pub.  Also, the novelty of staying home will be wearing off and boredom will be setting in.  I know my daughter, at 20 , is starting to look at online shopping sites so when she gets her furlough wages from her part-time pub job she can buy a nice outfit for when she can go and see her friends again.

So don’t think that there is no-one around to buy your Forever Living products, or your home crafted items, or whatever it is that you sell.  Now is the time to use your enforced lockdown to be your most creative, learn how to use TikTok, learn what to post on Instagram and how to connect with people on LinkedIn, learn how to promote your business and build your connections with online networking on zoom. Whatever tasks you have been putting off because you never had time, now is the time to get on with them.

Weds bob 2 Hats day

Do your ‘homework’ now so you can grow your business, whatever it is, in the future when you are once again free to go out and socialise. Personally, I am also advocating the self-employed getting your tax return done and submitted now while you have admin and downtime, so when you are free to get out again you know a) how much tax you are needing to save up and b) you can concentrate on income-producing activities when you have more freedom.

So that’s one of the reasons I have returned to blogging here when I’ve not had time to love the last year, and I’m talking about how the wonderful Forever products are so kind to the skin when you need to wash your hands so often.  What ‘homework’ can you do ?

The Sun has come out!

I am really starting to lose track of how long we’ve been working from home now.  I think it might be 3 weeks tomorrow but it could be wrong – it’s feeling almost normal already which is very odd.

What is lovely is to see the sun is out – and although it is early April I am seeing lots of pics of friends and family looking a bit pink in the face.  It is important to remember that even here in the UK the sun can be stronger than you think and catch you out.

So here is a lovely picture of me in my back garden holding my Aloe Sunscreen, which is super kind to my skin, as it contains inner aloe leaf, as well as being water-resistant and has an SPF of 30.IMG_20200405_130022

It’s a good job it is water-resistant as although we are being careful and keeping a social distance from our neighbours, they happened to start jet washing their garden trampoline as my daughter and I sat out in the sun so we had an impromptu shower!

I know we are really lucky to have a garden where we can sit out in the fresh air – and many people aren’t as lucky – but please take on board the current advice and don’t drive to your local park, beach or beauty spot to enjoy the sunshine – if we all did that then the government will stop everyone from going out to exercise and the actions of the few will spoil it for the sensible many.

How are you coping with the getting out in the sunshine?  Please share your pictures with me, and if you haven’t managed to get any sunscreen at your local stores there is plenty in stock on my online shop – just click buy forever living and order for direct shipping to your home.

Stay Safe and Stay Home..

Coronavirus Update

You can see from my previous posts that’s it’s been a while since I blogged in here.   Since I joined 4Networking 3 years ago I have been concentrating on my other business, Silicon Bullet, where I help unconfident bookkeepers to use Xero and Sage software better.  I also got involved with running the networking meetings, which takes a fair amount of time, so my Forever Business took a back seat.

That’s the beauty of a business with Forever though.  You can pick it up and put it down as it suits you.

So why am I back blogging again now?

Well, I thought this would be a great place to record some thoughts and feelings whilst in lockdown, and let’s face it we don’t know how long we will be here, so any and all income streams I have need to be explored.

It’s funny, that as I have put my Forever business down I rarely sell any products. It’s something that if you don’t talk about it to people then you won’t find new customers, and those you had tend to drift away too. Well actually it’s not funny at all.  This is not an easy business, you need to work at it, and if you don’t work at it you won’t earn any money from it.

But in the last 2 weeks, customers have come out of the woodwork to order from me – and the most popular product is the hand soap.  With washing your hands so much some soaps can be so drying and not kind to the hands at all, so I’ve sold double figures of hand soaps in just over a week.  We also have stock at head office and deliveries can be made direct so there is no danger of spreading the virus.  It’s not megga bucks but right now every penny counts, and the customers who contacted me couldn’t get what they wanted at local shops – so everyone wins.

90260404_227272891980978_2805010374712098816_o

So how are you coping with the your ‘lockdown’ and ‘social distancing’?  Do leave me a message and connect and let’s all help each other through.

C9 – New Flavours available

We all know Forever Aloe Gel has a very unique flavour, and not everyone gets on with it.  But you may still want to do the C9 cleanse but prefer to have your choice of gel flavour.

This is something I have always done for my local customers, as I could buy the other gel flavours and swap them over as we have plenty of others who do like the taste of our flagship aloe gel.

Great News!  Forever Living have now made the  C9 weight management programme available with Forever Aloe Berry Nectar and Forever Aloe Peaches as standard!

C9PEACHESCHOC200

So if you are ready to look better and feel great in just 9 days this summer but want to drink your favourite gel for the 9 days then get in touch or click on the Buy Forever Living tab above to order yours today.

Back to School tips for parents

With schools going back this week in England and Wales getting your mindset sorted for term time and away from holiday mode can be hard for everyone.  There are a million things to plan and think about from school uniform, maybe first day nerves at a new school, and planning healthy school dinners or packed lunches.  Here are a few back to school tips I have learned parenting my two, who are now 22 and 19!

Re-establishing a Bedtime Routine

During the holidays the children have most likely enjoyed later bedtimes on the long summer nights.  Getting back to a good sleep routine can prove challenging.  Children aged six to twelve are meant to get 9 to 12 hours of sleep per night, and teens need 8 to 10 hours.  Enforcing a regular routine by switching off electronic devices at least an hour before sleep time, a bath and teeth brushing and maybe reading a book together will really help.  Remember our Forever Bright Toothgel contains Aloe Vera and does NOT contain fluoride.

The Best Start to the Day

Mornings can be busy and stressful trying to get everyone out the door with all the right kit and uniform, but you should never let your children skip breakfast.  Arriving at school hungry means they are less likely to concentrate in class.  Establishing a routine of sitting down to have breakfast together can be a great start even if it means getting up that little bit earlier.  They need plenty of protein and fibre in their breakfast to keep them satisfied until lunch.

A Healthy Lunch

Planning for a healthy and nutritious lunch for your children is not always easy, I know mine got bored easily with sandwiches and it could be difficult to think of alternatives.  Thinking outside the (lunch) box mine enjoyed cold leftovers of favourite meals, scotch eggs and other savoury snacks as a change, plus at least one piece of fruit and veg in their lunch box each day.

Some children though no matter how hard you try just won’t have a varied diet, I know when I was a child I was a right pain in the neck to my parents.  If your children will try the Forever Aloe Vera Gels which are in plain, Berry or Peach flavours you know they are getting plenty of nutrients including vitamin C.  Also we have Forever Kids supplements which will give your child vitamin A, C, D and B12 as well as iron and zinc.  See how the drinking gels have changed in my previous post.

Get their Brain Trained

After being away from the classroom for so long your children may not have been exercising their brain much in the summer.  Try and help them do the activities they enjoy which involve reading and writing in the holidays.  Maybe a game of Scrabble or Rummikub with older children will start to get them thinking again.  They also need a quiet place to work available to them away from siblings and distractions if that is possible once they are back at school so they can concentrate.

Keep Getting them Outside

Going back to school doesn’t mean the end of outdoor fun.  September is a month when the weather often improves to give us all a last taste of summer before autumn and shorter days are with us.  Try and go for a walk after school, call in at the park, or for me, I’d go for a walk with the dog in our local forest.  Get outside somewhere that your children have space and can climb, jump, run and just be kids rather than being stuck indoors.

What tips do you have for parents getting back into the routine of school?  It might be you are sad to wave them off at the school gates, or are you skipping home feeling ready to get back on with your life and your business again after 6 weeks of family fun.

If you have been thinking of joining Forever Living but you couldn’t over the summer with the children under your feet, then get in touch now and I can support you in getting your business going.  School gates are a fabulous place to share the Forever opportunity too.
